The Dashboard

What the app shows you while the server is running.

The dashboard is a live view into the running server, split into tabs along the top of the window (⌘1–⌘7 switch between them).

  • Footer — the port field and Start/Stop button, plus a running summary of the port and client count
  • Overview — connection and message counts, port and status, and the server's address on every local network interface (plus localhost); click one to copy it
  • Fields — the manifest's fields, each rendered by its type: set a value, bump a counter, read and moderate a list, see who's here; the pages connected, with Remove and Ban. Switch between this Mac and any slash-socket-server you've added
  • Clients — every classic Socket.IO connection: color, username, socket ID, IP, connected-since time, last known cursor position, auth state, and a Ban button
  • Messages — chat sent over the classic chat_message event
  • Log — a running feed of connects, disconnects, messages and actions
  • Domain and Security — your Slash account and published domain, connection limits and the IP ban list

Because the connection lists include each connection's IP address, the dashboard doubles as a quick way to spot unexpected or abusive traffic while you're developing.
